We Advocate

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) meets with YouthBuild students from programs across Louisiana during the 2018 Young Leaders Capitol Hill Day.

YouthBuild USA and YouthBuild International advocate to expand resources globally to open doors for more low-income young adults ready to rebuild their communities and their lives. In the United States, together with partner organizations we advocate for reconnecting one million youth per year to education, employment, and national service each year through the Reconnecting Youth Campaign.

In particular, YouthBuild USA advocates for increasing federal appropriation for the USDOL YouthBuild Program, and for expanding national service funding for opportunity youth.  We also support state YouthBuild coalitions and local collaboratives pursuing sustainable funding for YouthBuild programs.

In keeping with our broader mission, YouthBuild USA also advocates for public policies and systemic changes that improve the lives of opportunity youth.  We join in broad-based efforts to create a society in which every person can flourish and realize full potential, in the following areas:

Funding for Opportunity Youth
National Service
Education
Criminal Justice
Youth Voice
Workforce Development
International Focus on Youth Livelihoods
