From April 22 to April 29, YouthBuild programs and supporters from around the country stepped up to show their support of the YouthBuild movement. From Long Island to Los Angeles, YouthBuild students and staff participated in the week of celebrations with service projects, meetings with elected officials, and special events in their communities.

High points from the weeklong event included a park beautification project by YWCA of Greater Harrisburg YouthBuild and a visit to YouthBuild Saint Louis by dignitaries including Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro and Congressman Lacy Clay. The week of events finished with YouthBuild programs in the Los Angeles area leading a march through the city’s downtown.

In addition to the special activities, students, staff, and supporters also participated in the I am YouthBuild campaign on social media to highlight the postivity of the YouthBuild movement.
