Friday, September 22, 2017

Representatives from YouthBuild USA and YouthBuild programs will be attending Greenbuild 2017, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. This year’s event is set to take place in Boston from November 7th to November 10th.

YouthBuild's CEO, John Valverde, will be a keynote speaker for USGBC's annual Sustainable Communities and Affordable Housing Summit hosted this year on Tuesday, November 7th at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The Summit will focus on the development of vibrant, sustainable communities through the lenses of resilience, social equity, health, and economic opportunity. Community and sustainability leaders will join together for a day of knowledge sharing and problem solving with the goal of expediting the economic, social, and ecological health and vitality of all communities.

Additionally, YouthBuild's founder Dorothy Stoneman has been named a 2017 USGBC Leadership Award recipient, which will be presented during Greenbuild's Leadership Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 9th. The Leadership Awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that embody vision, leadership, and commitment to the evolution of green buildings and communities as a vehicle to enhance quality of life.

On Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th, YouthBuild will also be present at the Greenbuild Expo with over 500 other companies and organizations working in the field of green building. Students and staff from numerous YouthBuild programs will be networking at booth #2530 in the Expo Hall.
