2015 YouthBuild Rural Caucus

In early March, twenty-one young people from rural YouthBuild programs across the country gathered for two days of community building. They flew, many for the first time, from places as widespread as Helena, MT, Burlington, VT, Kincaid, WV and Ogden, UT. Together they identified the unique challenges facing rural youth, as well as the creative solutions that they offer their communities.

This is an annual event, run by YouthBuild USA's Rural and Native Initiative, to both support the leadership development of rural youth and to bring rural youth voice to their rural policy work.

We were lucky enough to have Dale Mackey and Shawn Poynter from The Daily Yonder spend the weekend with us. Below you'll find some highlights, captured and shared by Dale and Shawn during the event.
