Reconnecting young people to secondary and post-secondary education is a core component of YouthBuild.

YouthBuild USA works through a number of partnerships and coalitions to expand funding for broader post-secondary access. One example is the current effort to make community college more affordable, advocating for continuation of Pell Grants critical to low-income youth and related policies that address the full range of barriers to college faced by YouthBuild graduates. We advocate for expanded funding for AmeriCorps, including the Segal education awards. YouthBuild USA also actively participates in coalition efforts focused on the reauthorizations of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education and Higher Education Acts, both of which impact enormously the educational prospects of YouthBuild students and graduates.
