Blueprint for Democracy

After registering 25,000 new young voters in 2004, the YouthBuild USA Affiliated Network Civic Engagement Committee published Blueprint for Democracy, a voter engagement curriculum designed specifically for low-income youth. In 2011, the second edition of the Blueprint for Democracy was released. This newly revised version has more up to date information on current issues such as the economy, climate change, and the political influence of social networking sites. The activities and lessons in the Blueprint encourage students to think critically about the issues that matter to them and inspire them to brainstorm how they can bring about change to transform their communities.
