We believe in the leadership potential of all YouthBuild students and alumni. YouthBuild USA provides national opportunities for our graduates to participate in leadership roles and in their local communities. They are also called upon to provide input into YouthBuild program quality and policies, and contribute to national forums related to the issues of low-income youth and communities.
YouthBuild USA recognizes that graduates have ongoing financial needs for college and launching their careers: e.g. buying tools for their first union job or acquiring a car to get to their first job in a rural area. Sometimes they also face unexpected health or other family crises.
Alumni Support and Leadership Webinar Series
The Alumni Services Department will be hosting 1-hour weekly Zoom gatherings led by YouthBuild alumni and targeted at both alums and current students. We’ll address topics related to self-care in this trying time, how to keep our connections alive, careers, service and leadership, mental health and wellness, and financial capabilities. There will be discussion and time for Q and A. Program Directors should feel free to have students attend if they are looking for ways to supplement virtual curriculum.
The first webinar will be Thursday April 2nd from 3:30-4:30pm ET. Register at Alumni Support and Leadership Webinar-Session 1.

YouthBuild USA is committed to assisting alumni in all capacities of their lives. This includes opportunities for financial assistance related to career and professional development, education, and economic hardship. YouthBuild offers two types of assistance:
The YouthBuild USA Asset Trust
The Asset Trust grant will be awarded based on need to YouthBuild alumni who are experiencing hardship; wish to further their entrepreneurial, professional or leadership endeavors; pursue personal milestones such as a home or vehicle purchase; or have an education focused opportunity. Applicants should fill out the online application. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with funds distributed quarterly. Asset Trust funding allows for 5 awards to be given out per quarter; totaling 20 awards per year.
Those wishing to apply for an Asset Trust may do so once per calendar year with at least 6 months in between submissions. Careful consideration is given to each application submitted. It may be required that due to the high volume of applicants, some submissions are carried over to the next quarter for review.
Helene D. Stoneman Scholarship
The Helene D. Stoneman Scholarship is awarded to YouthBuild Graduates who are leaders in their communities and working towards post-secondary success.
