YouthBuild USA National Mentoring Alliance
|
 |
 |
The YouthBuild USA National Mentoring Alliance is a new effort to strengthen outcomes for YouthBuild participants by providing volunteer mentors to help them prepare for the future and work with them to achieve goals.
The Alliance is being developed with funds from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) with the goals of supporting young people both during and after their YouthBuild experience and improving the design and implementation of mentoring services at YouthBuild sites around the country.
Local YouthBuild Affiliate Network members can apply to join the Alliance provided they meet the requirements and provisions outlined in the Alliance document below. Programs participating in the Alliance are eligible to receive:
- Funding to support and staff local mentoring efforts
- Staff training and in-depth assistance implementing the program (the initial training event of the Alliance was held March 8-11, 2010 in Las Vegas)
- Operations manuals, training curricula, and other resources that can improve program implementation
- Access to a variety of training and technical assistance services, delivered in partnership with the National Mentoring Center
You can learn more about the Alliance, review the mentoring models programs can implement, the project timeline and determine if your program is eligible to participate here
