We are pleased to announce Boston, MA as the site for the 2008 YouthBuild AmeriCorps Management Conference. The conference will be held at the Marriott Boston Long Wharf starting at 8:30 am on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 until 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. There is an optional AmeriCorps 101 session for new staff, new YouthBuild AmeriCorps programs, and/or staff that are interested in brushing up on AmeriCorps basics. That session will be Monday, August 4 from 3 pm to 6pm. An optional evening reception with heavy hors d'oeuvre will take place on Monday, August 4 from 6:30 to 8:00pm.

The Marriott Boston Long Wharf is a smoke free hotel. All rooms are non-smoking.
AmeriCorps Plus Programs (YouthBuild programs that receive AmeriCorps Education Awards and operating funds): YouthBuild USA will cover the lodging costs for the program staff member that oversees the YouthBuild AmeriCorps program and the financial staff member who prepares the AmeriCorps monthly grant reimbursement.
AmeriCorps Programs (YouthBuild programs that receive AmeriCorps Education Awards): YouthBuild USA will cover the lodging costs for the program staff member that oversees the YouthBuild AmeriCorps program.
Travel:
We have yet to receive a grant start date or a pre-award letter. Thus DO NOT book your travel yet as your expenses will not be billable to the grant at this date. We will send out a letter as soon as we have either a grant start date or pre-award letter.
AmeriCorps Plus Programs (YouthBuild programs that receive AmeriCorps Education Awards and operating funds): As soon as you get the go ahead from YouthBuild USA, you are responsible for the arrangement and payment of your transportation to and from the conference.
AmeriCorps Programs (YouthBuild programs that receive AmeriCorps Education Awards): YouthBuild USA will pay travel costs for the program staff member that oversees the YouthBuild AmeriCorps program up to $400. As soon as you get the go ahead from YouthBuild USA, please contact Baker Travel at 617-629-2660. Be sure to let them know you are attending the AmeriCorps Management Conference.
Attendees must arrive in time for the 8:30 am on site registration on Tuesday, August 5 and stay until 3 pm on Wednesday, August 6.
