Jennifer Bastress Tahmasebi serves as Vice President for National Service and Program Investment for YouthBuild USA. In this capacity, she oversees the largest single AmeriCorps grant that enables 1,800 YouthBuild students to serve their country and earn money for post secondary education, the Capacity Building Initiative funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the development of four new YouthBuild programs in New Orleans and the YouthBuild Katrina Rebuilding program in Gulfport, Mississippi to provide opportunities for young people and rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Jennifer has been with YouthBuild USA since 1999 and has served various capacities within the organization. Prior to joining YouthBuild USA, she worked at Isaacson, Miller, a search firm for mission-driven organizations; the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that administers Senior Corps, Learn and Service, and AmeriCorps; and Youth Service America, a national nonprofit that expands the impact of the youth service movement with communities, schools, corporations, and government. In the mid-nineties, Jennifer served as the Executive Director of Campus Outreach Opportunity League, a national organization dedicated to involving college students in their community as agents of social change. She has a degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
