In March 2008, at the Skoll World Forum Award Ceremony in Oxford, England, the Skoll Foundation unveiled a seven-minute film about YouthBuild as a solution to the issues affecting low-income youth in the United States. Watch this powerful film below.
Dorothy Stoneman, president and founder of YouthBuild USA, won a 2007 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship for her work creating the YouthBuild network of local programs and the public/private partnership through which federal agencies, national foundations and corporations, local and state public agencies, and individuals fund 226 local YouthBuild programs in which low-income youth get a chance to rebuild their communities and their lives.
The Skoll Awards honor and provide support for the world’s most promising social entrepreneurs whose organizations have the potential to resolve critical social issues through innovative and effective approaches. YouthBuild USA is honored to be among the organizations that have been selected worldwide to make a difference.
