David Abromowitz

Mr. Abromowitz, a director, conducts a broad national practice leading complex development and financing transactions, representing for-profit, nonprofit, and governmental organizations. Growing clients frequently turn to Mr. Abromowitz for advice in all aspects of their operation and strategic planning. He is nationally known for particular expertise in many areas of affordable housing and economic development, including Section 42 multi-family residential properties, active adult and assisted living communities, revitalized public housing and HOPE VI matters, Section 236 and Section 8 financings, community land trusts, and other multi-layered public and private financings.

  • Representation of a national financial service company on the sale of the Hancock Tower and related buildings to Beacon Capital Partners.
  • $700 million Boston Convention and Exposition Center project for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, including land assembly, relocation, and multi-party development agreements.
  • Master-planned development of 3,000 acre former Digital Equipment Corporation campus into 2,500 home planned unit development (including multiple hotel/conference centers, and Rees Jones and Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course phases) for Pinehills LLC.
  • Tax credit equity investments for various national syndicators, including multi-property fund of 14 properties in seven states.
  • Over $300 million in financings for the premier national syndicators of low-income housing tax credits as counsel to worldwide banking company.
  • Closing transactions in Texas, California, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, and other states under combined debt/equity programs financing development of Section 42 low-income housing tax credit projects for various national lenders.
  • Portfolio transaction from Section 236 and Section 8 owner involving all aspects of more than 3,000 units of HUD-assisted living housing.
  • Osage Hills 385 unit HOPE VI redevelopment in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and co-counsel in the $100 million redevelopment of the Mission Main public housing development into 585 unit mixed-income development, Boston, MA.
  • Over $300 million in financings for the premier national syndicators of low-income housing tax credits as counsel to Fleet National Bank.
  • $1 billion liquidity facility loan to a national financial service company.
  • Representation in all aspects of development and financing of affordable assisted living projects, including Susan Balis Assisted Living near Symphony Hall in Boston, MA.
