YouthBuild students construct or rehabilitate homes for homeless and low-income people in their communities. Projects range from restoring multi-unit buildings to constructing new homes.

Green Building Initiative
In 2005, YouthBuild USA launched the Green Building Initiative to respond to a growing demand from YouthBuild programs to learn how to construct homes with less environmental impact and greater affordability for occupants.

HUD Partnership
HUD awards grants to local community-based organizations to operate YouthBuild programs and to YouthBuild USA to provide technical assistance, training, and capacity building to local YouthBuild programs.

Loan Fund
The YouthBuild USA Loan Fund provide financial capital and technical assistance to support community rebuilding efforts of community-based organizations in low-income communities, particularly those that include young people in affordable housing construction, leadership development, and business development.

National Individual Development Account (IDA) Program
To help graduates build assets to achieve their goals, YouthBuild USA has won a $700,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the YouthBuild National Individual Development Account (IDA) Program. This program fosters the economic independence and leadership of low-income YouthBuild graduates by matching their savings.
