Definition of a Rural YouthBuild Site

Rural Sites are generally defined as programs that:

  • Are located in communities with 30,000 or fewer residents;
  • Communities with a "rural economy" (such as reliance on agriculture, forestry/timber, fishing, etc.)

YouthBuild programs operating in non-rural communities that enroll at least 10% of their young people from rural areas are defined as "partly rural" by YouthBuild USA
