The AmeriCorps Grants Manager is a full time position, reporting to the Director of AmeriCorps. The Manager is primarily responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting support to the AmeriCorps National Direct program staff.

Knowledge Resource Manager

The YouthBuild USA Knowledge Resource Manager will be a key player in the development, implementation and maintenance of leaning platforms that designed to help the field of over 200 YouthBuild programs share, identify, and adopt effective practices that enhance quality, sustainability, and impact at the local level. The YouthBuild USA Knowledge Resource Manager will be responsible for organizing, developing, disseminating, and evaluating content in partnership with staff at YouthBuild USA and local YouthBuild programs.

To this end, the Knowledge Resource Manager will be responsible for organizing content in the YouthBuild USA Knowledge Bank; developing systems that disseminate information on relevant YouthBuild USA publications to interested parties; and facilitating YouthBuild communities of practice comprised of practitioners interested in discussing common issues and sharing effective practices. Most communities of practice will convene through conference calls and electronic, web-based platforms. These communities will also be used to generate and evaluate content produced by YouthBuild USA.

The Knowledge Resource Manager will work with the Senior Director of Knowledge Management to collect high value ideas and feed them into other service delivery platforms including technical assistance and training. The Manager will also collaborate with other YouthBuild USA teams and departments to uncover knowledge needs and resources and use such information in the development of content for various knowledge platforms.

Staff Accountant I

This position is responsible for the full accounts payable cycle. Other responsibilities include cash receipts, flexible benefits plan monitoring, bank reconciliations, maintaining consultant contract records, various journal entries and filing.

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, flexible, reliable, team player with excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities. Good interpersonal skills are also needed, along with an ability to work with a diverse staff. Strong Excel skills and a minimum of 3 years experience performing accounts payable or related tasks required. Associate’s degree in accounting desired. Great Plains experience, and previous work in a diverse non-profit organization, especially one funded by federal grants and contracts, are a plus. In addition, a minimum of a 50 word per minute typing speed, along with the ability to use a 10-key number pad by memory, are required.

Director of Higher Education Achievement

Based at YouthBuild USA’s Somerville, MA headquarters, the Director of Higher Education Achievement will manage a national pilot project to demonstrate effective strategies in helping low-income, first time college and career aspirants to complete post secondary credentials and career certifications. Based on the theory that a post secondary credential is key to a family-sustaining wage and central to breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty, the work of this initiative will include a comprehensive set of interventions that focus on: academic rigor, mentoring, financial supports, partnerships with colleges, peer support systems for youth, apprenticeship programs, employer associations, follow-up engagement from staff, and service and leadership development opportunities.

Director of Workforce Strategy

This position will work with local program staff to ensure successful transitions of YouthBuild graduates into employment opportunities and long-term economic sustainability. The director of career development will focus on training program staff to build bridges from the YouthBuild program environment to the market environment. The role of this position is to improve YouthBuild practice along the full spectrum of demand-driven employment activity including career assessments of YouthBuild students, preparation for placement and success in careers, partnerships with the private sector, and long-term supports for graduates.

This is a full-time position supporting the Rural and Tribal Initiative and the Program Investment Department. The Administrative Assistant’s role is to provide an efficient support system in which internal and external communication flows smoothly, travel is expeditiously handled, reports and information are created as needed and organized, and initial research is gathered.

External Communications Liaison and Special Project Assistant to the President

The central purpose of this full-time position is to provide skilled support for the President on a variety of strategically important special projects related to communications, fundraising, special events, advocacy, internal administration, and serving the field. In addition, the executive assistant will work with the President’s administrative assistant to create an efficient support system in which internal and external communication flows smoothly and graciously, the President’s office works seamlessly with other offices in YouthBuild USA and with YouthBuild programs across the country, and information is organized for easy retrieval.
