The Mentoring Program Associate of the National Mentoring Alliance will be a key staff position in the growth of YouthBuild’s mentoring work. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

This is a position requiring a strong development professional with at least three years of successful fundraising experience. It requires superb writing and analytical skills. The Associate Director for Development will work on foundation and corporation fundraising in a large national non-profit organization and will have the opportunity to take initiative and suggest and develop systems to strengthen the department’s effectiveness.

The Contract Director will be based at YouthBuild USA in Somerville, MA with frequent travel to the Department of Labor’s Washington DC ETA office. He or she will organize YouthBuild USA staff and consultants to meet the programmatic goals and obligations of YouthBuild USA’s contract with DOL, integrating the two streams of knowledge and experience represented by DOL and YouthBuild USA into a seamless delivery of quality services. In other words, s/he will mobilize the resources and expertise of YouthBuild USA to maximally benefit and achieve the goals of DOL for its grantees under the direction of DOL and in partnership with DOL staff.

A total of 100 VISTAs will be placed through YouthBuild USA: 86 will be placed at 50 local YouthBuild programs in urban and rural communities around the country; five will be placed with YouthBuild State Coalitions; nine will be placed at YouthBuild USA in Somerville, Massachusetts to support the capacity of the network.
