This position requires proficiency in green building and green rehab techniques including weatherization and energy auditing and experience managing a group of consultants. The Director must be familiar with green construction, energy efficiency, and renewable energy industries; as well as with energy efficient vehicles and biofuels. The Director will lead YouthBuild’s nationwide green construction program implementation which includes technical training, housing certification assistance, YouthBuild instructor and student credentialing, and electronic technical assistance and knowledge resource database management with the ultimate goal of employment and leadership opportunities for YouthBuild participants.

Based at the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Employment and Training Administration YouthBuild office in Washington, DC, the DOL Knowledge Manager will coordinate and produce 2-3 webinars monthly for the DOL YouthBuild community and coordinate the work of the DOL YouthBuild Content Innovation Groups. In addition, the Assistant Knowledge Manager will assist with the writing and editing of DOL YouthBuild Program Manuals, blogs and Community of Practice postings. The Assistant Knowledge Manager will work to meet the programmatic goals and contractual obligations of YouthBuild USA’s technical assistance contract with DOL. This full time position will report to the Knowledge Manager for the DOL contract.

The Event Manager leads and manages all logistics and program planning for YouthBuild USA events, specifically the YouthBuild Department of Labor events as a Logistics Specialist. YouthBuild events will range in size from 12 to 300 people. Travel will be required for most events, spaced approximately once every other month and away for 3-6 days at a time. Each event will likely be in a different stage of development, requiring multi-tasking flexibility by the Event Manager as well as detail-oriented project management with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The central purpose of this full-time position is to provide skilled support for the President and Senior Vice President on a variety of strategically important special projects related to communications, advocacy, constituency development, federal fundraising, and special events.

The Assistant Controller is a full time position, reporting to the Senior Finance Director and Corporate Controller. The Assistant Controller is primarily responsible for supervising the Staff Accountant I and Staff Accountant II; overseeing the accounts payable, payroll and cash receipts functions; providing billing, reporting and analysis services for selected federal and most private funders; managing our relationship with American Express; preparing a variety of analyses; and serving as back-up for the Senior Finance Director and Corporate Controller.

Because of YouthBuild’s proven effectiveness in working with low-income court-involved young adults, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has selected YouthBuild USA through a competitive process to create a major national demonstration. DOL has granted $10M for 2.5 years for eight flagship programs to demonstrate a modified YouthBuild program called the YouthBuild SMART (“Start Making a Real Transformation”) program.

The AmeriCorps Financial Manager is a full time position, reporting to the Director of AmeriCorps, and will work collaboratively with the other AmeriCorps Financial Manager. The Manager is primarily responsible for providing financial compliance, analysis, and reporting support to the AmeriCorps National Direct program staff.
